VIDEO-Could the US Air Force take Godzilla? - Stripes Central - Stripes

The U.S. Air Force is willing and able to take on the giant fictitious monster, Godzilla, if and when it emerges from the depths of the Pacific Ocean to threaten Japan.

Members of the 18th Wing, based at Kadena Air Base on Okinawa, went on record in a recent and extremely silly video — Godzilla: Hypothetical Defense Strategies — about their determination to defeat the great radioactive beast in a head-to-head fight.

One airman envisages shooting Godzilla with helicopter-mounted machine guns while a wing public affairs officer posits a surprise attack by slingshots and thousands of ground troops on Segway scooters, perhaps assisted by the Incredible Hulk and the Power Rangers.

A reboot of the Godzilla movie is due in theaters later this month:
