Another football star made the news for the wrong reasons this week.
Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots apologized Wednesday after photos showing him posing shirtless with a porn star popped up online.
The session was an attempt to get more Twitter followers, Gronkowski said.
The 22-year-old tight end is seen standing next to the blond performer. She is wearing his blue-and-white 87 Patriots jersey. Both are smiling. I mean, wouldn’t you?
The porn goddess, BiBi Jones (star of “Naughty Nanny 3” and “Cutie Pies 2,” among other classics), posted the two offending photos Monday on her Twitter account.
Contrition came quickly for the sports star, who was signed by the Patriots last year for $4.4 million.
“I didn’t intend anything to hurt the reputation of anyone on the New England Patriots or on behalf of (team owner) Robert Kraft,” Gronkowski said.
During an interview with a Boston sports radio station, Jones said Gronkowski carries one of his jerseys around with him “for times like this.” You know, those posing-shirtless-with-a-porn-star times.
