Bill Clinton's plane makes emergency landing in Tanzania | Sun Times National

A plane with former president Bill Clinton aboard it had to make an emergency landing in Tanzania due to issues with an engine, according to CBS News.

Per CBS News:

One of the four engines on the Canadian turboprop Dash 7 plane stopped working. Everyone aboard the plane is safe.

The plane landed at the Dodoma fueling station, where the engine was being repaired.

The aircraft was traveling from Iranga, Tanzania, in the center of the East African nation, to Lake Manyara, which is in the north.

Clinton is in Africa to visit agricultural projects funded by the Clinton Foundation. He and his daughter Chelsea are slated to visit Kenya, Liberia and Morocco during the trip.

According to the Washington Post, 20 “major Clinton Foundation donors” joined the two Clintons on their nine-day trip, many of whom have contributed campaign money to the Clintons.

Per the Washington Post:

The group includes Lynn Forester de Rothchild, a longtime supporter of Hillary Clinton who has also been a major foundation donor. The delegation will also include Jay Jacobs and his wife Mindy. Jay Jacobs donated more than $500,000 to the foundation and has also given to the political action committee Ready for Hillary.

The trip has drawn scrutiny as the Clinton Foundation has been under fire for missteps in disclosing donors.

Of course, the plane trouble could always be worse. Just ask Secretary of State John Kerry, who’s plane broke down four times last year alone.
