SurveyMonkey CEO died of head trauma in exercise accident

MEXICO CITY - A Mexican state official says SurveyMonkey CEO David Goldberg died of severe head trauma in an exercise accident.

The official says Goldberg was found lying next to a treadmill on Friday at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita near Puerto Vallarta.

The official said family members went to look for him after he didn't return from exercising about 6:30 p.m. He was still alive when discovered and taken to a hospital, where he died.

The official said the cause of death was severe head trauma and hypovolemic shock, or bleeding.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to speak to the press.
