Ann Barron-DiCamillo is Director of the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT), leading DHS’s efforts to improve the Nation’s cybersecurity posture, coordinate cyber information sharing, and proactively manage cyber risks. Arriving at DHS in October 2012, Barron-DiCamillo served initially with the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC), where she led the Program Development and Capabilities Integration branch. Prior to joining DHS, Barron-DiCamillo spent four years with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) at Fort Meade, Md. She held positions as the Chief of the Capabilities and Control Branch and the Chief Engineer of the Enclave Host Security Division. She was also responsible for ensuring that solutions provided for and incorporated protection, detection, diagnosis, and reaction capabilities into Department of Defense (DOD) information and information systems. Under her leadership, DISA integrated host security solutions, capabilities, and configuration risk management (i.e. CMRS) programs into the DOD system architecture in order to provide a net-centric enterprise vision for network operation. Barron-DiCamillo was also responsible for deploying and sustaining the Host-Based Security System (HBSS), which monitors, detects, and counters against known cyber-threats. Barron-DiCamillo’s Federal Government experience also includes time as chief of Analytical and Modeling Simulation team with the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration, and as legislative aide to then-U.S. Congressman Dr. Tom A. Coburn of Oklahoma. Outside of government, Barron-DiCamillo has experience as Director, Jefferson Consulting Group/Thompson Advisory Group and Privacy Council; software developer, The Motley Fool; and applications developer, American Management Systems. Barron-DiCamillo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University and earned her Master of Science Degree in Information Systems from American University. She has earned the Department of Commerce’s Bronze Medal Award for Superior Federal Service and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional since 2003.
