Naked truth: no more nudes in Playboy magazine. Playboy Enterprises said its iconic men's magazine will stop publishing photographs of naked women. Driving that decision: Playboy had become passe in a digital world where people are a click away from pornography. The magazine's circulation has plummeted from its heyday in the 1970s when it helped drive the sexual revolution. Playboy Enterprises CEO Scott Flanders said, "The political and sexual climate of 1953, the year Hugh Hefner introduced Playboy to the world, bears almost no resemblance to today." Playboy had earlier relaunched its website, stripping out nudes last year to make it - in its words - "safe for work." The company had been taken private three years earlier. Playboy will overhaul its magazine in time for its March issue, making the monthly larger and printing it on heavier paper. But some things will remain the same. The glossy that once featured spreads on celebrities ranging from Marilyn to Madonna vows it will keep publishing sexy pictorials of women. But without nudes, you can now say you read it for the articles.
