Michigan is used to harsh winters, but snow in mid-October is a bit too much for some. SOUNDBITE: UNIDENTIFIED MICHIGAN RESIDENT, SAYING: "Please go away it's a little too early for us to have this much snow." Parts of the state saw its first snowfall of the season. Kalkaska County in Northern Michigan got more than five inches of snow. The early arrival of old man winter catching many off guard. SOUNDBITE: UNIDENTIFIED MICHIGAN RESIDENT, SAYING: "Well we're moving today so it's a little bit of a surprise but I don't mind the snow it's kind of fun just proves the guy upstairs has a sense of humor I guess." Snow also fell in parts of the Northeast. In Erie, Pennsylvania, several inches fell covering the grass and trees.
