Munich shooting: Teenage killer Ali Sonboly 'inspired by far-right terrorist Anders Breivik' and 'used Facebook offer of free McDonald's food to lure victims'

A group of teenage friends was among those killed in Friday afternoon’s shooting at a Munich shopping centre.

Friends posted tributes on the Facebook profiles of Sabina Sulaj, Can Leyla, Selcuk Kilic and Armela Segashi, all aged between 14 and 15.

German media said that Armela and Sabina, both of Kosovo-Albanian descent, were close childhood friends. Can, a boy of Turkish descent, was a friend of Sabina’s; Selcuk and Can also knew each other well.

Armela’s brother Arbnor Segashi asked Facebook friends at midnight to help him locate his little sister, saying she had been at the shopping centre and the family had not heard from her since news of the shooting broke.

But at 8am, Arbnor wrote on Facebook in both German and Albanian (the Segashis are of Kosovo-Albanian descent): “Armela — our beloved daughter, sister, friend and first of all beloved human being today lost her life in the shooting in Munich. We love you, angel.”

One common friend of Sabina and Can wrote on Facebook in a series of public posts: “Sabi, you were an angel, always you came to me when I felt bad, took me into your arms and made me laugh. I love you, rest in peace my darling…"

“Rest in peace, Sabina and Armela,” another friend wrote. “You’ll always be in our hearts.”
