The agreements on Syria reached by Russia and the United States in Geneva will come into force on September 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on September 10 after talks with US State Secretary John Kerry.

The regime of cessation of hostilities in Syria should hold for seven days, followed by the creation of a special center tasked with distancing the moderate opposition from terrorists, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on September 10.

"After the (ceasefire) regime holds for seven days, we will set up an executive center, where representatives of Russian and U.S. militaries and special services will deal with practical matters, separating the opposition from terrorists," Lavrov said.

The initial confirmation of the ceasefire regime will be intriduced for 48 hours, he added.

"These documents will come into force on September 12, when the so-called D-Day comes," Lavrov said.

Russia and the United States have coordinated five documents on Syria that will create conditions for resuming political process, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on September 10 after talks with U.S. State Secretary John Kerry.

"Despite lack of trust, despite attempts to disrupt today's agreement, we have managed to coordinate a package of documents. Today's document is not the only one. In fact, there are five of them," Lavrov said.
