This morning, many in the media were up in arms over President Trump tweeting that he was “looking forward” to the jobs numbers ahead of their release.
They were fuming mad with this supposedly “illegal,” “unprecedented,” and “break of protocol” comment.
Here are just a few examples:
- MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle was outraged by the tweet, calling it “unprecedented” and “quite a bid deal.”
- Former Obama econ advisor Austan Goolsbee stated on CNBC and twitter that President Trump may have broken the law.
- Reporters from major newspapers criticized POTUS for “break[ing] protocol” and sending “markets a clear signal on jobs report before numbers are released.”
- CNN’s John King said “I dare you. Go back and look. Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama. Find a President of the United States talking about, tweeting about, communicating about the unemployment report before it came out. I dare you,“ and then hosted a panel that slammed the President for his tweet.
Dare accepted.
Here just a few examples of the Obama admin commenting on the next day’s jobs report , and actually giving up far more info than President Trump did this morning:
I dare you to find me an example of the media freaking out then…
