Elizabeth Warren is getting some assistance from her political pup.

On Wednesday, the Massachusetts Senator — who recently confirmed that she plans to run for president in 2020 — shared a sweet video on her personal Twitter account from her campaign appearance over the weekend.

Stealing the spotlight in the clip was Warren’s golden retriever Bailey, who tagged along to the event wearing a puppy cam, and met dozens of the senator’s supporters.

“This is Bailey’s first political event,” Warren, 69, said in the clip before introducing her husband, Bruce H. Mann, and their dog on stage. “Today, I thought I’d bring the two guys in my life: Bruce and Bailey.”

Bailey even had his own separate photo line, where he was spoiled with plenty of head rubs, pets, and attention.

“If anybody wants to stay around and take a picture, I’ll be here and we can do that,” Warren said, jokingly adding, “And Bailey will be out there with his own separate photo line. This is not a competition.”

But being adorable proved to be exhausting for the pup, according to Warren.

“Bailey snoozed all the way home from New Hampshire – campaigning is tiring work for a dog!” she tweeted alongside the video. “Check out his view from Saturday’s event in Manchester.”

Bailey was a gift to the senator from her husband. The pair adopted the little pup in July, naming him after George Bailey, the community banker from It’s a Wonderful Life, to “to bring a little gentleness and normalcy into our lives.”

“[George Bailey] was a guy who was decent, determined & saw the best in people,” Warren tweeted of why they chose the name. “I always thought the role of GB was written for a Golden Retriever, but Jimmy Stewart did a nice job with it.”

Bailey and Bruce, 69, joined Warren on Saturday in Manchester, New Hampshire as she engaged with audiences during an exploratory tour as a prelude for her presidential run in 2020.

She first confirmed her run at the end of December, announcing her plans to launch the exploratory committee, a process that allows her to publicly raise money and hire campaign staffers, in a video.

“If you work hard and play by the rules, you ought to be able to take care of yourself and the people you love. That’s a fundamental promise of America,” Warren began in the clip.

“I’ve spent most of my career getting to the bottom of why America’s promise works for some families, but others who work just as hard slip through the cracks into disaster,” she continued, before emphasizing that “America’s middle class is under attack.”

“But this dark path doesn’t have to be our future,” Warren added. “We can make our democracy work for all of us. We can make our economy work for all of us.”

She then asserted that “billionaires and big corporations” are responsible because they “decided they wanted more of the pie, and they enlisted politicians to cut them a fatter slice.”

Her campaign is beginning just about six years after she first won public office, when she became the first woman to ever be elected to the Senate from Massachusetts.

Warren is not alone in spotlighting her cute dog while making a run for — or serving in — office.

Other politicians, including former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, and Richard Nixon, also have made the country fall in love with their four-legged friends.

From Obama’s Portuguese water dogs Bo and Sunny, to Clinton’s chocolate lab Buddy, to Reagan’s Cavalier King Charles spaniel Rex, the political leaders have proven that their lovable pets truly are the greatest companions and can instantly capture the hearts of thousands.
