Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyers filed a motion Thursday to dismiss an attempt by one of his accusers to unmask the woman who “recruited” her into the multimillionaire’s alleged harem of underage women.
The accuser has said she was just 15 when convicted pedophile Epstein forcibly raped her.
In the new court papers, Epstein says he will invoke his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent in regards to his alleged “recruiter’s” identity so he does not incriminate himself in ongoing open criminal case.
The accuser, Jennifer Araoz, who claims Epstein raped and sexually abused her in his Upper East Side mansion, says that she was recruited for the abuse by an unknown woman outside of her Manhattan school.
According to papers filed July 10, Araoz requested for Epstein to be deposed and forced to turn over a log of every person who visited his Upper East Side mansion from 2001 to 2003, as well as a list of people he kept employed during the time period.
The deposition and the documents may reveal the identity of Araoz’s recruiter — so Araoz can add the woman to a civil claim against Epstein that she plans to file on Aug. 15, according to the court documents.
