Flynn knocks Comey: 'I know where he's going'

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn shared some critical words for former FBI Director James Comey, even if he won't get into it fully now.

Fresh off a pardon from President Trump, Flynn is on a media tour this week and told conservative radio host Dan Bongino what he thinks of the man who dispatched agents to interview the then-White House national security adviser during the early days of the Trump administration.

He specifically alluded to Comey admitting giving the orders on a whim in 2018 during an event with MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace, prompting laughter from the audience.

"I don't know how that guy can look at himself in the mirror," Flynn said. "I know where he's going to go at the end of the day. And I know where people like him should go. I won't say it here on your show."

Flynn didn't get into it there, but U.S. Attorney John Durham, who was elevated to special counsel in October, is investigating criminality in the Russia inquiry.

Comey, was fired from his FBI director role in May 2017, denied in September that he went "rogue" with the Flynn interview. This was after former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates criticized him for "acting unilaterally" by not coordinating with her in advance of the interview.

Flynn ended up pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about conversations he had with a Russian envoy but later claimed he was innocent and set up by the bureau. The Justice Department moved to dismiss the case but with the presiding judge resisting such a move and a Biden administration incoming, Trump pardoned Flynn last week.

Flynn also reacted to the news that Comey will begin teaching at Columbia Law School in January, quipping that the education system must be "broken."
