January 27, 2022: Today, the Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council (GCC) and the Subsector Coordinating Council’s (SCC) Joint Mis/Disinformation Working Group released the Rumor Control Page Start-Up Guide and the MDM Planning and Incident Response Guide for Election Officials as voluntary tools to assist State and local election officials prepare for and respond to risks of MDM.

Rumor Control Page Start-Up Guide: Developed by the Election Infrastructure Subsector’s Government Coordinating Council (GCC) and Subsector Coordinating Council’s (SCC) Mis/Disinformation Working Group, this is a guide for election officials on how and when to develop a rumor control webpage to dispel specific MDM narratives through transparent and authoritative information.
