My friend works at a grocery store in a quiet 95% white city with no crime. A family left their bikes outside unlocked (because there is no crime) and my friend witnessed the one single black teen in the vicinity come up and steal one. I work in the apparel retail industry, and our store has been struggling with similar issues as well. I've noticed that many in the black community are obsessed with name-brand apparel. When a black person approaches for assistance, it is often to ask some variation on "Where's your Polo section?" or "Do you carry Tommy?" not clarifying Polo Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger.

When I direct them to products branded U.S. Polo Assn, which has a similar logo to PRL, they're usually uninterested because "[they] want real Polo." Perhaps they should clarify that when asking, rather than just saying "Polo," because in our store, "Polo" refers to U.S. Polo Assn. Some ended up stealing the U.S. Polo products they just claimed were fake.

The same can be said about Nike and Calvin Klein products.

Honestly, pretty soon most of these stores will just be rows and rows of vending machines. Either a kiosk or you chose what you want on your cellphone. No chance for people to steal shit.

Some local stores in my area do this and offer free delivery over a certain amount. I take full advantage of it. Normally have to order and schedule at least a week ahead, but I'm all in. I always hated going to the store and having to deal with droves and droves of zombie retards, so this all works out for me. Plus, it keeps me from impulse buying. Win-win.

I've done this for grocery shopping for years. Curbside pick up was a game changer. I don't do it for produce because the mouthbreathers working at most stores will find the most rotten and bruised stuff, but for all the dry and packaged goods its a big time saver. Means I just pop in after work once or twice a week and grab produce as needed.

Pickup's great when it works. Nothing worse though than wanting something specific, throwing in a bunch of additional stuff to make it up to the minimum then they tell you that they didn't have your wanted item in stock but you still have all the other stuff to pay for.
