Time for a lawsuit or 10,000 against the state of California.

level 2

They’ll just roll it into one class action law suit handled by a class attorney and they’ll settle in a way where each person gets maybe $10 and a coupon for identify theft protection.

level 2

Sue each of the officials who had oversight?

level 2

There’s 10,000 CCW owners in my county of 150,000. There’s gonna be a lot more than that. This is so scary. And a huge reminder of why over use of government involvement is a huge problem.

level 1

The excel sheet it allowed you download is the perfect file for selling on the darkweb. You see threat actors do it all the time and yet this time it was done by a state government in the open. The information is beyond damaging. First, middle, last name. Address. Race. Age. It even lists if you are a judge or reserve officer. I have 30k residents from my county sitting on my computer. I'm beyond livid

level 2

I'm sure it's already for sale on the dark web.

level 2

I’m not asking for the list. Do you have the list? If so, how many entries are there? That’s all I want to know. I deal with data breaches all day every day. CA has a law requiring you to report a breach of 500+ containing PPI which this list clearly does

This is blatant retaliation for the SCOTUS ruling on shall issue.

We need to call on SCOTUS to rule for constitution carry. The states have now proven they cannot be trusted with a registry without violating the 4th and 14th amendments.

The people should not have to worry about being attacked by the state for utilizing their 2A. The state needs to fear the people!

level 2

Well said. I agree this is retaliatory.

level 2

Indeed. The supreme court does not react kindly to a state flouting its ruling, especially when it comes to peoples rights.

level 2

wouldn't that be quite the clap back. File a civil rights lawsuit and run it up to SCOTUS.

level 1

It wasn't a leak, it was an intentional public release.

level 2

As a Californian, It’s clear as a gun owner you are an enemy of this state. In a state where our leaders and government are almost all Dems, I don’t know how you can bring yourself to vote for a dem candidate here going forward after this. They just declared war on your life and you’ll still give them votes?

level 2

This was an intentional leak by the state government in the same way it leaked non-profit donor forms a few years back resulting in Prosperity vs California case. California's AG has extensive record of disclosing Californians confidential material.
