This presentation by End of Life Choices California addresses the legal end of life options for Californians, including discontinuing or declining medical treatments, palliative care, hospice care, voluntarily stopping eating and drinking (VSED), and Medical Aid in Dying. Also covered is California's End of Life Option Act (2016) in more detail, including who is eligible, recent legal changes, the patient's required process and written request needed for obtaining the prescription from a physician, the estimated costs, and ingestion guidelines. Also, there will be a brief mention of Advanced Care Planning, directives, and durable powers of attorney.
