- Ukraine Licenses BOTG
- I believe when you hear the media saying that there is a threat of the US's revoking Ukraine's licenses they are referring to export control licenses, specifically items regulated under ITAR ([https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Traffic_in_Arms_Regulations](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Traffic_in_Arms_Regulations)).
- ITAR prevents items that are commonly used militarily from being exported from the United States without the express consent of the State Department. It covers big things like fighter jets and missiles all the way down to small things like night vision goggles or IR reflective patches. They also can control critical components of items. For example, with night vision goggles, both the finish product as well as the image intensifier tube within them are listed under ITAR.
- There are a lot of defense contractors selling ITAR controlled items to Ukraine (which Ukraine can still purchase even if US aid to their war effort has been cut off) however that flow of goods could be immediately cut off if the State Department revoked the export control license they are currently being exported under.
- Here's the kicker: The rules are sticky to the recipient and item. So say Germany has a pair of night vision googles (an ITAR controlled item) that they bought from the US and Germany then wants to send those NVGs to Ukraine. In order to do so, they have to seek permission from the United States Government before sending them over or else they risk sanctions or having their own licenses revoked. This means the threat could theoretically be levied over any ITAR controlled goods that other countries would want to send Ukraine since we dropped our aid to them.
- As long as all of our other friendly countries play ball, revoking the export licenses could really hamper a lot of military aid from flowing to Ukraine, even if it's not coming from the US itself.

- Chrystia Freeland BOTG
- this is some info in regards to our upcoming elections and Prime ministerial hopefull Chrystia Freeland.
- Because of her last name, many are unaware that she is a Ukrainian
- Canadian with a tainted family history and as far as I recall
- she was in Ukraine during the euromaidan. She is also despised by the
- Russian government. She has an anti Russian perspective that with roots
- In my perspective, nobody is paying much attention to the leadership
- debate, all my liberal minded friends have Trump derangement syndrome
- far more concerned with the trump tariffs. I am a Polish born Canadian , living in Toronto , which is a liberal
- hive. We also have another political party, led by Jagmeet Singh, which is propping up the current government by
- not forcing an election. Jagmeet is also tainted, he is a Canadian born sikh who supports Khalistani independence and is
- reviled by the Indian government. Canada and Polish Canadians played a
- strong role in the development of the Polish state from WW1 until the

- Appalachian Rebuild BOTG
- Real Americans are hard at work helping out people here in western North Carolina. Our home here in Spruce Pine was devestated and we've been helping out our neighbors since the beginning. We started with an aid station originally built from our disaster preps which then became a donation and distribution site. Since the initial aid has tapered off, we built a charity with some of the people that came to help us out during those first few weeks.
- We have rebuilt churches, homes, shoveled mud, dug culverts, and enlisted folks real Americans all over the country to donate their time and resources to help.
- WNC Boots on the Ground
- I reckon I'll stay anonymous with this report but I'm boots on the ground in WNC, Asheville area to be specific. My family has been in this area since they got off the boat in the 1600 and 1700s. Anyway, a few points.
- - WNC is by no means liberal. The Asheville area is liberal but that's mostly because of the huge influx of people from California, New York, and other northern states. WNC (and all of Appalachia really) is very conservative overall, it's old fashioned, it's definitely part of the Bible Belt, and is historically 10-15 years behind everywhere else. Hell we still had Granny Doctors until after WW2.
- - President Trump made his very first visit of office to Swannanoa (Swan Ahhh Noah) which was one of the hardest hit areas during Helene and is about 20 minutes east of Asheville. For what it's worth Biden didn't set foot here. He took an aerial tour of the damage.
- - The people who were most affected were the poor. They tend to live "down by the river" in trailers and, welp, those trailers are gone now. I've definitely heard of people living in heated tents.
- - It's still a mess. The level of dustruction is unreal. Entire towns gone, etc. That's not some that gets fixed quickly. Every day I see work being done but it's slow going and most of it is being done by locals as far as I can tell.
- - It's not quite "bodies strewn about the hillside" but I still haven't heard an official death count. There are people who were straight up washed away and never found for sure though.
- - The Army Corp of Engineers have done a lot of good work here rebuilding roads, fixing the City of Asheville's water supply, etc.
- - FEMA gave every household $750 and you could apply for more. I know several people who got FEMA money for generators, etc.
- - In my opinion, the reason people are in tents now is because of the insane cost of real estate here due to all the new outsiders since 2020. This has been a trend and a problem for quite some time (hell, look at the Biltmore Estate, built by a New Yorker) but it has gotten exponentially worse since 2020. So FEMA (ot whatever government agency) buys the floodplain property from the owners who lost everything and these people have no where to go. Even small communities aren't immune to this as Californians come here to escape the wildfires and play farmer.
- - IMO, here in the Asheville area, a large part of the problem is liberal miss management of resources. I would imagine that other rural areas have fared better. We are a hardy stock and we take care of each other but here it's all liberals from other places so that sense of community isn't as hardy.
- Anywho I hope this helps.

- Sympathy from an In Memoriam Producer BOTG
- Was listening to your show and couldn't help but chuckle during your Oscar Awards talk with John today. I work with a tribute package team for award shows and it is well known in our little circle how much of a hard time the Oscars seems to have with their In Memoriam package.
- I don't work on that show specifically, so I don't have any good inside gossip to share with you, but it's very common for a final product to be harmed by internal board member politics. I've witnessed it many times in the past and can only imagine how egregious it is at the Oscars.
