- Important De Minimis Announcement for TikTok Shop
- |Hello TikTok Shop Sellers,|
- |We want to ensure you're informed of the changes to the de minimis exemption for goods originating from certain countries.|
- |**What is the de minimis exemption?**|
- |The [**de minimis exemption**](https://www.cbp.gov/trade/trade-enforcement/tftea/section-321-programs) currently exempts shipments valued at or under $800 USD from tariffs.|
- |The US government announced plans to **remove de minimis treatment for products from** **China, including** **Hong Kong** **,** effective **May 2, 2025.**|
- |**What does this mean?**|
- |When the de minimis exemption is removed for a country's goods, duties will be applicable to all impacted shipments regardless of value, and additional supporting documentation may be required to import, previously exempt, goods into the US.|
- |**NOTE:** Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), maintain their own requirements for imported goods, which US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helps enforce.|
- |Sellers should continue to ensure they are familiar with all requirements for importing goods into the US.|
- |We are actively monitoring these developments and will work to keep you informed.|
- |For more information, please refer to the **[Official Executive Order](https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/04/further-amendment-to-duties-addressing-the-synthetic-opioid-supply-chain-in-the-peoples-republic-of-china-as-applied-to-low-value-imports/)** provided by The White House.|
- Bees
- Bee collapse BOTG
- My son is a crop adviser in the Sacramento Valley, where almonds
- and bees are big business. I asked him about the current hive collapse
- scare, and this is his response.
- doing quantity over quality for a decade as growers have demanded more
- hives per acre and (almond) acreage has increased. They tote their bees
- all over the country contracting and spreading disease and mites. They
- split their hives without doing mite or disease inspections; furthering
- disease and mite spread. They treat the bees with harsh chemicals to
- kill the diseases and mites year after year. I've seen how this weakens
- bee colonies. When I ask them what their mite counts are or what
- percentage of hives have disease (pre-bloom) they don't know and they
- don't train the laborers to do it. I think they don't want to tell me
- Many people blame pesticides, and pesticides are not good for bees.
- But beekeepers are given notice before sprays are applied, and I've never seen a beekeeper move their bees as a precaution."
- Dutch bees BOTG
- I will reply in english because your dutch is getting rusty. :)
- No, if you mean if I hear other beekeepers worried about it? Yes. If it is happening more now than a couple of years ago? No, I haven’t heard it more than previous years. During my time we had different results. Sometimes there is a clear reason for something that can be pinpointed. Some times you can’t.
- We did more worry about them having enough to eat. You really need a diverse set of plants for the bees to have enough. I did not travel with the bees that much. But I sometimes helped with putting other bee keepers hives on “koolzaad”. They kind of traveled like in the documentary I send you. But not with many hives. Let’s say 3 of 5 not the thousands like they do in the states.
- I think like a lot of things there are multiple reasons. To give you an example. If the queen goes on “honeymoon flight” (bruidsvlucht). It will happen at a certain time of the day. If there are birds that are hungry and the queen is eaten? Your whole hive is hard to keep going. (You’ll need to replace the queen).
- It is all very delicate. But I can tell you, spraying chemicals is certainly not good. We had death bees in front of the hives when the farmers sprayed on chemicals on corn.
- Does that answer your question or did I mis understood it?

- Bamberg, a Franconian town of 80,000, was the epicenter of German witch hunts in the early 17th century, with nearly 1,000 executions for alleged witchcraft between 1595 and 1631. Now, controversial court rulings are reviving an Inquisition-like climate again. On Monday, district court judge Martin Waschner displayed a similar zeal by sentencing David Bendels, editor-in-chief of the Deutschland-Kurier, to a seven-month suspended prison term—just shy of the six months sought by prosecutor Alexander Baum. Bendels’ alleged crime: posting a meme in February 2024 on the outlet’s X account showing Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser holding a sign that read, “I hate freedom of speech”

- Kash drops trans school shooter’s manifesto—now we know why they buried it... - Revolver News
- The manifesto, which was written by trans mass shooter Audrey Hale, confirms what we already figured: this was a radical, mentally unhinged leftist who openly hated white people, Christians, America, and her own body. The FBI and Nashville PD conveniently left this out of their report. Why would they do that? Because it didn’t fit their “trans are victims” narrative.
- In the pages, Hale described herself as a “violent extremist” obsessed with hatred, destruction, and death. Her writings included lines like:
- “Kill all the white kids. Kill my own race.”
- “Female pronouns make me feel like I wanna die.”
- “I have to kill so I can be remembered in the most horrific way possible.”
- These aren’t just random ramblings. They reflect the growing radicalism within the trans movement—a movement that’s riddled with mental illness and embraces liberals who treat violence like virtue and mental instability as an identity.

- Legal Analysis - J.G.G. v. Trump (the Tren de Aragua case)
- Adam—You probably read about yesterday’s SCOTUS 5-4 decision on the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua members. SCOTUS has vacated Judge Boasberg’s TRO and held that the prisoners are entitled to “habeas corpus” relief _only_, which must happen in Texas where they’re detained. The DC court (and DC Circuit) aren’t allowed to opine.
- The bottom line, however, is that the prisoners _are_ entitled to habeas protection under the Fifth Amendment. I’ve attached a highlighted copy of the Court’s order. The dissent is really long, and I lack time to read it—but it’s in the file if you want to read it.
- So what’s the practical result? I’m not an expert in habeas law—but generally speaking, a habeas action is limited to whether a person’s detention is lawful. If the person prevails, his only relief is to be released from confinement. If he loses, the question in **this** case (at least to me) is whether he can then be deported under the Alien Enemies Act. The Act gives the President broad discretion here, and limits judicial review.
- There’s one other practical aspect to this: The habeas action **must** occur where the prisoner is detained. In this case, that’s Texas. Many of our judges here in Texas—including the federal ones—are well attuned to the costs of illegal immigration. So the odds are far better that federal judges in Texas will (1) deny habeas relief and (2) defer to the President and allow the Venezuelans to be sent elsewhere. (Yes, it will be fast-tracked through the Fifth Circuit and up to SCOTUS, where the four dissenters will probably succeed in granting cert (you only need four votes).)
- This has to be very upsetting to the ACLU and to the DC judiciary, who seem far more sympathetic to illegal aliens than their Texas counterparts.
