- Airmen don't vibe on Hegseth
- It's the douchebag Airman
- Luis Borges again. Honestly really happy you guys keep the "Florida
- ounces" bit alive, I almost didn't share that story because I thought
- you guys wouldn't like it!
- as you know and I've shared with you guys before, I'm in the Air Force.
- And Adam mentioned last show about how he has a DOD friend that loves
- Pete Hegseth and the Department of War stuff. I wanna give you guys the
- active duty Air Force maintainers perspective.
- honestly think he's kind of a tool. We see him as a guardsman that
- played the "ex-military" card on Fox News. His speech that he gave to
- all the generals was mandatory to watch the other day and a lot of the
- guys in the shop were not happy with what he had to say. He wasn't
- speaking to us. He was speaking to the guys how go out and do the "real
- shit" the spec ops guys, infantry etc. Higher PT standards for us, we're
- all hurt with injuries in one way, hell I need a knee surgery from
- working on the B-52. Us in maintenance work 12hr days and now he expects
- us to work out everyday during they duty day while trying to get jets
- out on time? Leadership doesn't like it because of that reason.
- Leadership is having a tough time finding that time in the day to do all
- he wants but with situations around the world right now, it's
- impossible to fulfill his wished and they resent him. I agree with the
- secretary there are A LOT of fat people in the military. It's just hard
- for us in maintenance to get that time in unless things calm down for a
- bit on the operations side.
- we have tons of airman, good airman, that will eventually get kicked
- out because he doesn't want shaving waivers anymore. Now I agree that
- the system has been abused but lots of African American airman will be
- discriminated against because of this and I fear we will lose a lot of
- airman. If the treatments they are suggesting don't work, poof gone.
- This will cause, in my opinion, more and more people ineligible to serve
- on top of all the other disqualifying nonsense.
- old heads don't like him, they think that we are going back to the old
- days where the Air Force was an extension of the Army and we have slowly
- pushed away. Now, I do like his promotion ideas, heck I love the name
- "Department of War" because that's what we do, but I think he's trying
- to change too fast. Already out MAJCOM General retired early (resigned)
- and speculation is because of the upcoming changes. We as an Air Force
- have done a lot for the airman and now it seems like all those steps are
- being squashed to be a different force. We hear him say the word
- "lethal" so much it's lost its meaning and it's a meme now in the
- our opinions in Air Force maintenance. We feel betrayed by him but time
- will tell if it's for good or not. I expect a lot of airman getting
- kicked out on PT and waist measurement (now a part of the PT test. You
- can pass the PT test 100% and still fail because you're a size 36 waist
- instead of 35 for example) and it's only going to make everyone's job
- Thank you for all you do Adam and John and Happy anniversary!

- Fun Facts about your clips of ER and The Pit
- Just to tell you some stupid fact about the doctors complaining of parents who didn't believe in the Measles Vaccines in your clips of ER an RThe Pit. I think both clips are from the same doctos. Well, different doctors, but same actor. In The Pit the doctor was Dr. Robby, played by Noah Wile, and if I heard correctly in the ER clip, it sounded like the voice of Dr. Carter, played many years ago by Noah Wile.
- Maybe this issue is some kind of campaign brought by Noah.
- Buprenorphine info
- In the morning. Today’s show you had talked about buprenorphine. It’s pronounced like two words. bYOU-pruh norphine, rhymes with morphine. That aside, here’s my story. I was in a wreck in 2001 that about took my life. Many broken bones, one of which was my femur shattered into nine pieces. This was the time of OxyContin and I was on it for years. I was taken off and still in pain, I started buying pills off the street and then when it got too expensive I switched to heroin. It would take a day to tell you everything but between coming back to Christ and a treatment center here, I have been clean and sober for 9 years. The medicine you mentioned is a once a month shot in the shoulder or rear end. I am prescribed a product by the name brand of Suboxone. It’s Buprenorphine and Naloxone. Same ingredients as the shot. Aside from Christ this has saved my life. I have tried to stay clean for years and years and could not kick the habit. The medicine I take is a sublingual strip I place under my tongue once a day. Buprenorphine attaches to the opioid receptors and takes the cravings away. The Naloxone is pretty much what’s in Narcan so while taking this medicine I would get nothing out of taking opiates. It’s a crutch, I know, but it keeps me staying of the street drugs. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
- bupenorphine injection
- bupenorphine treatment has been around since 2005ish. Sometimes these
- injections are FORCED for people leaving prison who have drug cases.
- This drug is made by a British company ( IIRC) and was forced through
- FDA approval faster than any other drug at the time.
- It's just as big of a money maker in the long term as methadone. 60+%
- of people who take it are on it for 5+ years, if not more. Most
- methadone clinics offer methadone or bupenorphine because they are
- both substantial money makers. I'm clean from opioids
- for 10 years now after I looked up the 990 for my methadone clinic and
- saw the head was making 375k a year , but still asking for donations.

- Sublocade BOTG
- Hope this email finds you well. I struggled for a long time to get completely clean from opioids. Most maintenance medications (like buprenorphine) they just expect you to be on forever. Not only is it expensive but it's just as addictive as the drugs you're trying to stop. They often require a taper schedule and, even when stopped correctly, leave lingering symptoms of lethargy and just a general feeling of being unwell. I was trying to get completely clean from all maintenance medication and sublocade accidentally solved the problem of trying to taper down. The slow release mechanism they use (Atrigel) is so effective at sustaining a steady release of the medication that I was able to get one shot and never go back to the clinic without a taper or anything. The drug slowly worked its way out of my system without any side effects and I am now completely sober. This obviously isn't the intended purpose of the injection (it's supposed to be once a month) but it did help me get clean.
- Sublocade Shot
- Although I am sober now, I have had opioid addiction issues in the past, and have been prescribed buprenorphine. Sublocade is an extended release buprenorphine shot. It releases about 10mg of the drug per day and lasts about 30 days. Buprenorphine is prescribed to treat opioid addiction, there is also sublingual and pill forms of the drug. If it is used for a short period of time then tapered off it could be useful to get off opioids. The problem is that it is 80-100 times stronger than morphine, so it is likely more addictive that the opioid you are trying to get off of. The other issue is doctors will keep prescribing it to you forever. When it is used like this it is just a legal opioid prescribed in the name of addiction treatment that is just about as strong as fentanyl, but longer acting. It is like methadone but 8X stronger.
- NSN
- NSN - supply chain
- No Agenda Knight here - I lead all of digital product management, research, and design for Zoro.com - a wholly owned subsidiary of Grainger. Grainger basically supplies all the stuff you don’t think about to maintain, repair, and operate all the things. When “the supply chain” is talked about - they’re a big part of it.
- Grainger is a major military supplier and is always very clear about keeping different lines of business from sharing sensitive information with each other.
- I’m a middle aged white American guy and lived in China for high school.
- I haven’t bought the surface level convos about trade between the US and China at all. It hasn’t been adding up.
- It wasn’t until you and John tied the ARC and North Sea Nexus groups to the supply chain that things started clicking.
- One more datapoint for your theory - Over the last month Grainger has closed down Zoro UK and decided to divest from Cromwell UK (another industrial supplier in the UK).
- If the ARC alliance is making moves - then it would be an interesting little plot point to show some of the wagons circling.
- There may be more ideas down that path

- Also here in Finland…teacher realises teens can't tell time
- A significant number of lower secondary students (grades 7-9) at the Albert Edelfeltin school in Porvoo are unable to read an analogue clock, even at the level expected of second graders.
- This was reported by Helsingin Sanomat, which wrote that many teenagers were unable to complete clock-reading exercises designed for second graders. The newspaper interviewed Ripsa Heiskanen, a math, physics and chemistry teacher at the school.
- Heiskanen became suspicious when she noticed her pupils kept asking how long it was until the next break, even though every classroom in the school is equipped with an analogue wall clock.
- She decided to check her students' time-reading skills.
