- As we are developing Podcasting 2.0 it has become apparent that in order to close the development loop, one or more podcasts that implement the new work are required in order to return real-world feedback on usability at scale.
- New namespace tags must be tested with a large enough audience sample that experiential and usability features such as chapters, captions, transcripts, promo clips, comments, ratings etc etc in order to provide feedback to the developers as well as have a fresh source of content that utilizes the new features available to the developers for their own adjustments and tweaks.
- In order to add this important data-feedback to the podcastindex.org developers toolkit, a tool is needed that has the following requirements:
- *Online web app for easy updates to the tool when new features are needed based on namespace expansion
- *Add new namespace elements and pre-populate with default or example data
- *"New Item" creation for new episodes
- *Download feed for publishing to appropriate public server
- During the initial development of podcasting 16 years ago I learned how important it is to involve users in the development process. We have an excellent groups on podcastindex.social, but no easy path for plain old podcasters to jump on the development train to boost development with real-world usage.
